Focus on Serial Block Face Imaging-Scanning Electron Microscopy

The BIC ZEISS GeminiSEM 300 offers the possibility to produce 3D reconstruction by the 3view system (https://www.gatan.com/techniques/serial-block-face-imaging)

You can image three-dimensional samples, including large tissue structures, whole cell, cellular processes (connectomic, pathology,…) and organelles. It is particularly useful for imaging large fields-of-view, with nanometer X,Y,Z resolution and after image analyses, we can get different statistical information.

This option can answer to many fields of activity, such as animal and plant biology, soft materials as well as biomaterials for which it is particularly well suited.

And, now we develop 3D CLEM for example by the “Near infrared branding” (NIRB) method (Bishop et al., 2011).

Do not hesitate to contact Etienne () to try this system.
