A new space, more welcoming and functional

As you (maybe) know, the electron unit has moved in December 2017 at the first floor of the Centre de Génomique Fonctionnelle de Bordeaux – CGFB. It’s now time to present you our new place!!!

We are localeted close to the Broca Nouvelle Aquitaine Center, Magendie Center and IBGC. The Photonic and the Electron Unit of the Bordeaux Imaging Center are now gathered! And a dedicated footbridge will make the link between the two building!

In this new space, you will find, first, a user reception area, always with free water and coffee.

And then, several technical room, more clean, light and welcoming, with a more convenient organization :

  • a specific TEM/SEM area at the east, with the two 120kV TEM : the Hitachi H7650 and the FEI T12 room, more silencious and pleasant ; the big sample preparation room (carbon-coating/ionization and ultramicrotomy); and the SEM room with the FEI Quanta 200 and all the technical sample preparation area.
  • at the west, the “cryo part” with a room dedicated to cryosectionning, and then a “cryo room”, with a part dedicated to the HPF with the Leica HPM100, a part dedicated to freeze-substitution, another for immunolabelling, and the last part dedicated to R&D.
  • at the end, in the center of all those technical rooms, the FEI Talos F200S, the new TEM (look at the second article of this newsletter, that talk about it!!)

We are sure you will appreciate, like us, this new place. It represents better conditions to make beautiful experiment and sciences approach!
